We are so lucky to be living and working within a stone's throw of the historical market town of Petworth. The small town is very quaint and filled with lovely antique shops, cafes and restaurants. It is surrounded by the most stunning English countryside too.

Whilst spending a recent afternoon here we enjoyed a stroll through the park, which is within walking distance of the town, and is home to Petworth House. Pictured here on a beautiful sunny day.

Whilst in the area a visit to The Hungry Guest Farm Shop is highly recommended. Filled with an array of beautifully displayed goods it's a treat to buy dinner from here.

The entrance to The Hungry Guest.
Very posh shopping bags.
Bread made right on the premises is plentiful, what to choose ??

A huge selection of herbs and spices are on display.

Just a short drive away is The Horse Guards Inn, again a quaint little village pub nestled on the outskirts of Petworth, just 5 minutes drive away.

This old country pub is full of character and is the perfect place for Sunday lunch, if you can get in. We recommend you call ahead to book, especially on a weekend.

We love these old style vintage shutters as you enter the pub.

The pub has its own chickens too, around 10 I think. This one is Gandolph. ( I think)

Casper, probably not too impressed by the large family of chickens roaming around the garden.

A beautiful place to sit.
